We are honored to share Senator Cory Booker's acceptance video from our 10th Annual Library Champions Dinner which recognized the contributions of five remarkable library champions! Senator Booker directly champions the work we do here in Long Branch and as a United States Senator, brings our values and mission to the national stage. Senator Booker nominated the Long Branch Free Public Library for the prestigious National Medal for Museum and Library Service resulting in our library becoming one of 15 national finalists. His support was instrumental to the New Jersey State Library’s IMLS Leadership Grant successful award which expanded Long Branch’s Fresh Start Reentry Services throughout New Jersey libraries.

Most recently, he co-sponsored the Build America Libraries Act to fund upgrades to the nation's library infrastructure to address challenges such as natural disasters, broadband capacity, environmental hazards, and accessibility barriers. This groundbreaking legislation would pave the way for new and improved library facilities in communities across the country.

Thank you Senator Booker!
