Get a Library Card
Anyone living, working, or attending school in Long Branch, NJ is eligible to receive a free library card. Get yours by visiting either the Main or Elberon locations or by applying online for a temporary digital card. Not a resident of Long Branch? No problem! You can still register for an LBFPL card for an annual fee of $20.
Getting Started on Your Desktop

Step 1: Begin by visiting our website https://www.longbranchlib.org/ and clicking on the tab "Books & More" located on the top left corner.

Step 2: Once you've clicked on the "Books & More" tab you will see the option to access the digital collection by clicking on the "eBooks" tab.

Step 3: After you select the ElibraryNJ tab you will be brought to the homepage of the digital collection.

Step 4: Once you are on the home page of ElibraryNJ, select the "Sign In" tab on the right hand corner of the screen. After you've clicked sign in, you will be brought to a new tab in order to select your library.

Step 5: Under the Select Your Library drop down menu select "Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium". Sign in with your library card number which is located under the barcode and enter your four digit pin number. If you do not know what your pin number is please give 732-222-3900 ext 2200 a call and one of our staff members would be happy to assist you.

Step 6: After you have logged into your account, you can begin to browse the collection. Patrons are able to check out 5 books, place 5 holds, and renew items 3 days before expiration (magazines don't count towards your checkout limit and are always available to borrow). When you are ready to borrow a title you may select a lending period of your choosing for each format. Items can be checked out for a period of 7, 14, or 21 days.

Step 7: Under the My Account tab you are able to view current loans, holds, add or edit your wish list, see checkout history, as well as adjust display options and content preferences. Happy reading!
Getting started using the Libby App

Step 1: Download the Libby app by visiting the App Store of getting it on Google Play. Any device type with internet access can use the online Libby App. Need help with downloading the app? Contact our Technology and Career Center by giving us a call at 732 - 222- 3900 ext 2270

On the homepage select YES to the question, do you have a library card?

Step 2: First time users can click Search For A Library to register your account.

Step 3: Begin by searching for your library by typing Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium and then select ElibraryNJ.

Step 4: Once again select Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium as your library.

Step 5: Sign in with your library card number and four digit pin. If you need any assistance call 732-222-3900 ext 2200 and one of our staff members can help you look up your account information.

Now that you are signed into the Libby App you can begin to browse the library's catalog.
Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf () and download to the app automatically when you're connected to Wi-Fi, so you can read them even when you're offline.
On your Shelf, tap loans at the top of the screen. From there, you can:
Select Read With... to choose where you'd like to read the book (Kindle or Libby), then finish sending to Kindle (U.S. libraries only) or start reading in Libby.
Tap Open In Libby, Open Magazine, or Open Audiobook to start reading or listening in the app.
Tap Manage Loan to see options like Renew and Return.
