We thank you for your interest in supporting us through volunteering, but we are currently unable to accept any new volunteers.

Adult Volunteers

Long Branch Free Public Library values our volunteers!  We invite you to join our dedicated volunteer team, who have freely offered their skills and experience to benefit the Long Branch community. Volunteer opportunities are available at both our Main Library and Elberon Branch.

We offer several ways for individuals to become involved in serving the needs of the community. Our volunteer projects serve people of all ages, and you can choose opportunities based on personal interests, location, and availability. You may opt to interact directly with the public or stay behind the scenes to assist with the smooth operation of the Library.

Choose from:

  • Online / Virtual Service Projects

  • Adopt a Shelf (volunteer to organize the library)

  • Special Community Library Projects

  • One Day Events (Latinofest, Long Branch Day, Juneteenth, etc.)

  • Filing and general clerical assistance

  • Local History Volunteers

  • Read Stories (Spanish & Portuguese-speaking readers are needed)

  • Have a hobby or specialty you'd like to teach? We'd like you to host a program (online or in-person option available)

Whatever your preference, our dedicated staff partners with volunteers to ensure that your service experience is positive, meaningful, and utilizes your talents to the fullest. And of course, the greatest benefit of volunteering at the Library is knowing that you have made a real difference!
